"El Templari 2011", a wine to revive the glorious stories of knights

At Hotel-Hostal Sport we continue to expand our wine list and this time do it with a red wine from DO Terra Alta, developed in the winery of Barbara Fores
Among the more than 240 references worldwide wine offered in the wine list of the restaurant of the Hotel-Hostal Sport, we offer now "El Templari 2011" of Barbarà Forés, historic winery of the DO Terra Alta, located in the Catalan town of Gandesa.
Why this name?
Barbarà Fores means respect and tradition in winemaking, values transmitted from parents to children for over a hundred years, but also the ability of each generation to refine and improve the inheritance.
The "El Templari 2011" wants to relive the past as a territory, seeking the energy and organization to the Knights of the Order of the Temple was given during repopulation.
Wine Features:
- The label : following the Knights Templar seal, that plays two knights on a horse with the caption Militum Christi Sigilum Temple, the label draws a galloping horse with two warrior monks representing austerity, but also the strength and unity of individuals protected by the cross.
- The property: located under the cliffs of the Pandols mountain rage
- Soils: conglomerates, pine and silt mixed with clayey layers.
- Grape varieties: Grenache Noir ( 35%) and Morenillo ( 65 % ) . The variety Morenillo was almost lost but it has begun in recent years as a native plant . Everything in it is large : the trunk , the branches , leaves, and grapes.
- Preparation: fermentation and maceration in stainless steel tanks for 35 days for Black Grenache and 28 days for the Morenillo. All at 24 degrees.
- Aging: 13 months in French oak barrels .
- Production: 6,650 bottles.
