Oil turism in the Priorat
The Priorat is known worldwide as a wine destination, but also stands out for the quality of its oils, protected under the Siurana PDO. You can visit wineries, yes, but also oil mills. Or both!
Winter, when the day is short and cold, is a good time for oil tourism. Discover mills and taste their oils; one of the best treasures of Mediterranean cuisine. In the Priorat you can follow the oil route, where a dozen oil mills that can be visited will show you the production process and the organoleptic characteristics of some impressive extra virgin olive oils. On the website of Turisme Priorat you will find them all!
But, are you ready to visit them? Do you know about oil as much as wine? We invite you to find that out with this Olive Oil Quiz! You will find the correct answers at the end of the post.
