Petit Blanc 2011, a bold and elegant white wine to taste by the glass

Today we talk about the Petit Blanc 2011, a white wine with floral and fruity notes of DO Montsant, produced in the winery Ronadelles of Cornudella del Montsant.

• Grape Varieties: 50% Grenache and 50% Macabeo old vines.

• Farms producing: La Plana- Mas d’en Belart.

• Harvest 2011: characterized by intense fruit as a result of climatic extremes: a short but cold winter, a rainy spring and a hot and dry summer. We highlight the slow ripening of the grapes from veraison, depending on grape variety. The large thermal contrast between day and night has generated a fresh wine  with acidity and high level of alcohol.

• Vinification: manual grape harvest and sorting in field in boxes of 15 kilos with subsequent heat treatment at -2 º C. Gently pressed. Fermentation in French oak barrels 300 L.

• Aging: 50% of coupage in French oak barrels for 6 months 300L with fine lees with the technical of "battonage". 50% of the blend in stainless steel tanks 2000 L for 6 months with lees. Malolactic fermentation in boots and deposits respectively.

• Profile: an elegant and aromatic wine, dominated by mineral nuances on floral and fruity notes. Balanced and frank on mouth with long notes of salinas.

• Recomendation for tasting: because of its good aging potential, we recommend to decant to enjoy its complexity. It will maintain all its virtues over the next six years.
