100 years of accomodation and meals

It has been 100 years since the Hostal Sport opened its doors in Falset, specifically on Christmas Day 1923. Since then, a lot has happened; like a war, a fire or a pandemic.

Getting here has not been easy. The Priorat is currently a well-known and recognized destination, but the road has been full of bends and unevenness, like those of the vineyards that surround us.

However, all the generations that have promoted Hostal Sport have believed in our territory and in the need to put ourselves on the map. And the effort has been rewarded with awards such as the 1st Wine Tourism Award of Catalonia in the accommodation category in 2015, the Silver Medal for the work of President Macià, the Wine Tourism Excellence Award for Restoration and Accommodation of CEPTA or the Cartaví Award to the restaurant with the best wine list in category B.

But we don't just want to talk about the awards that, over the years, have endorsed a job well done; but of moments that have been building the authority of Hostal Sport, because representatives of the wine world from all over the world have passed through here, experts in technology within the framework of the legendary Forquilla Business such as Genís Roca, or others professionals who complement the inner well-being that we promote from the hotel, such as Gaspar Hernández. As easy as it is for us to go to Barcelona to see a concert or attend a talk, we have put a lot of effort into reversing the direction by promoting that in the south and in the interior of Cataunya, a lot of things happen there too.

Turining 100 years old does not make us old, more like the opposite! Constancy has allowed us to fulfill them, and because it is more difficult to maintain than to start, at Hostal Sport we have always defined ourselves as a historical establishment in constant evolution that has doubled the number of rooms, that has rehabilitated spaces and which has acquired three apartments to continue welcoming guests looking for quality and modernity, without losing authenticity and essence.

We are, as you already know, a family hotel looked after with effort, perseverance and a lot of love by grandma Magda, aunt Montserrat, Pilar, Rafel, Marta... and a long list of generations, workers and collaborators who have passed through the establishment and are still, in some way, inhabiting it.

In our establishment, weddings, communions, birthdays, parties... and all kinds of celebrations have been held in the hearts of our customers, in the form of memories from the garden or the vaulted room. But we have also hosted events from prominent companies such as the Agència Catalana de Turisme, Grünenthal Pharma, Cluster Innovi or BASF; companies that have found in our facilities and with our teambuilding activities the energy, motivation and concentration that their team of professionals required.

And obviously, a lot of wine has circulated in the forms of tastings, meetings, dinners and celebrations. Oh the wine! One of the assets that have positioned the Priorat on the map as a top-quality wine tourism destination, and which, in return, has placed us and all the Priorat producers, winemakers and winemaking friends who, day in and day out, work hard to make the best products in the world and to take care of the environment they live in.

You can see that in 100 years at the Hostal Sport and the Priorat, many things have happened, like for example you, who had a crazy desire to come for a few days to taste wines, to get lost in the Montsant, to climb Siurana or walk among vineyards and that you chose our house to do so. You, who have brought us to our centenary and who encourage us to continue working to fulfill 100 more with responsibility and a vocation of service. Thank you so much for making it possible!
